The aim of the current workshop
The Moroccan Direction Générale de la Météorologie , in collaboration with the World Meteorological Organisation, organize two workshops on :
WMO National Climate Monitoring Products Calculation.
on 18 and 19 January, 2022.
The objective of these workshops is to provide Central and West Africa countries, member states of WMO, an online training aimed at building the capacity of their staff with regard to the principles and techniques of generation of national climate monitoring products according to WMO guidelines.
These workshops will take place online via the Zoom platform (See GUIDE) and the link will be sent to the registered participants in due time.
Monitoring changes in the Earth’s climate is based on atmospheric and ocean observations since the beginning of the observations on the 18th century.
WMO stimulates and coordinates climate-monitoring activities around the world and helps build climate-monitoring capacities in developing countries
and Least Developed Countries. WMO N° 1204 publication, provide a specification for the shortlist of NCMPs that can be produced consistently and
easily by most countries. By having clearly defined NCMPs, it should be possible for countries with fewer resources to focus their efforts on a
small number of products that have wide applicability and interest.
