Background
To address the capacity building needs, in National Meteorological and Hydrological Services (NMHSs) of Central and West Africa countries, and under the “West Africa Region: Seamless Operational Forecast Systems and Technical Assistance for Capacity Building (CREWS-West Africa)" Project, funded by the Climate Risk and Early Warning Systems (CREWS) initiative, the Moroccan "Direction Générale de la Météorologie ", in collaboration with the World Meteorological Organisation, organize a series of three workshops on :
Climate data management, data sharing and exchange.
on 4-5 and 8 November, 2021.
These workshops will take place online via the Zoom platform (See GUIDE) and the link will be sent to the registered participants in due time.
The main purposes of the workshops are to:

- Provide trainings (online) for observing networks’ managers and climatologists;
- Provide guidance and training on the principles and tools for generation of climate datasets, WMO Integrated Global Observing System (WIGOS) and Weather Information System (WIS).
The main topics to be addressed are:
- Introduction to methods and tools for the generation of climate datasets,
- Concept of and calculation of WMO standard climatological products : computing World Weather Records, climatological standard normals for 1991-2020 and National Climate Monitoring Products,
- Quality control and Homogenization of climate data time-series,
- Use of WIS to share climate data and products,
- The WIGOS Data Quality Monitoring System (WDQMS) functions and webtool, Metadata,
